Started with a truck, built on doing it right.
Robert Haines started Electrical in 1998 after a decade working for a large electrical contractor where he kept seeing the same thing homeowners being oversold, underserved, and left with unpermitted work that would cause problems for years. He wanted to build something different: a company small enough to care, skilled enough to compete, and honest enough to deserve the work.

Twenty-six years is a long time to stay true to the same set of values. Here are the milestones that shaped who we are.
1998
Electrical founded by Robert Haines
Robert quit his job at a large contractor and launched Electrical out of a single pickup truck, serving residential clients across central Austin with a commitment to permitted, honest work.
2010
Reached 1,000 completed jobs
We launched in our home city with a small group of carefully vetted sitters and a promise to keep safety first.
2016
Launched EV charger installation service
Austin’s rapid EV adoption led us to specialize in home charging infrastructure. We became one of the first Austin contractors certified for Level 2 EVSE installation across all major EV brands.
2020
3,600 jobs and still going
Twenty-eight years in, we’re a team of ten licensed master electricians covering Greater Austin with the same commitment Robert started with in 1998. Same principles, bigger team, more capability
2026
Daniel Haines earns master electrician license
Robert’s son Daniel joined the company in 2012 and earned his master license in 2016 after four years of training. The second generation of the Haines family was now leading jobs independently.
